BigBand project

Integration, development of potential and community experience are the most important goals of the “BigBand project”. With the method of Sandra Weckert it is possible for all participants to play simple pieces together within a short time even without musical knowledge. When making music together, all heterogeneous systems such as religion, origin or education merge. It remains the experience of how motivating and fruitful a good collaboration is. Making music only works with cooperation and not with competition – an important gain in knowledge.
In november, the pupils of the Freie Montessori Schule Neu-Ulm had the opportunity for a week to practice music with various instruments such as saxophones, trumpets, trombones, keyboards, percussion, drums, bass and guitars as well as singing. The children and young people were to discover new abilities in themselves, rely on others and work as a team on a “whole”, namely on a big final concert, which took place on 10 November in Ulm to great applause.
